Organic Farming with Amigo Cantisano
Join us on Tuesday, March 4th for an information packed day focused on improving production of organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, flowers and herbs on Kauai.
Amigo Bob Cantisano will host an Organic Farming Seminar at Waipa featuring low cost ways to improve productivity. The seminar is all day (8:30 – 4:30) and the fee is $60.
Attendees will learn numerous practical techniques and receive concise handouts highlighting low cost, proven techniques to increase productivity & quality, while minimizing the purchase of inputs.
Amigo has 40 years of multiple crop organic farming and has advised over 450 growers in the Western US, Hawaii, tropical Central and South America, and worldwide on a huge array of crops and farm sizes. His specialty is low cost, on-farm systems to maximize productivity, quality and profitability. Founder of Organic Ag Advisors, the Eco Farm Conference, Peaceful Valley Farm Supply, 3 farms, and is a cofounder of CCOF, UCSAREP, Ecological Farming Association and more.
He will discuss techniques for maximizing soil and plant fertility, increasing microbial and humus biomass, utilizing soil and leaf analysis, optimizing nitrogen, cover and inter cropping, composting, compost tea, foliar feeding and fertigation, pest management, on farm monitoring for microbial biology, nutrition and pests, and on farm production of fertility and pest management materials.
