The Waipā Foundation invites you to our 5th annual Kalo Festival on Sunday, December 7th from 11 am to 5 pm.

Join us at beautiful Halulu Fishpond as we celebrate kalo with educational displays…hands on guidance from master kalo farmer and varieties expert Uncle Jerry Konanui... a biggest kalo contest… poi pounding… and delicious foods inspired by kalo too!

We just got the word that Kamakakehau Fernandez (above) will join us on stage this year, as well as Walt Keale, Lady Ipo (who will also emcee), Halau Palaihiwa O Kaipuwai, Kirk Smart and Michelle Edwards. We hope to confirm even more home grown musicians soon!

There will be a WATERSLIDE, and other keiki activities, makahiki games, a recipe contest, hands-on craftsmaking and did we mention it’s right on Hanalei Bay?

Want even more? Enjoy holiday shopping at our silent auction and with local artisans who are joining in the fun too! Uncle John Kaohelaulii will even be on hand with his konane boards, ready for action!

This event is a fundraiser and a special opportunity to enjoy community, food, and fun in the ahupua’a.

Admission $5 for adults and $1 for keiki (ages 3-18).
